Las Vegas – Vice President of the deformator Kamala Harris appeared at a conference on artificial intelligence this week to encourage the most invested people to work in two more organic features: faith and empathy.
In a 45-minute conversation at the Humanx Conference here, Harris expressed support for the potential of turning society-comparing it at some point with the electrification of rural America-but warned that the strained relationships between industry, government and people can destroy that potential.
“If we do not understand this, I think we are losing this very specific moment in time,” she told her interviewer, Nuno Sebastião, CEO and co -founder of the Financial Financial Fraud Firm.
Much of the problem, Harris said, is due to a separation of communication between Washington and Silicon Valley. “For now, this is a really bad relationship,” she said, pointing out that the last decades have eroded government support for research and innovation.

The government deserves some of those faults, Harris said, in the sense of not evaluating the benefit of him and the data in general. She mentioned her experience as the Prosecutor General of California, when fought to create a data portal called open justice that made large data reserves from the State Justice Department available to researchers and lawyers.
“The government has a way to collect tremendous amounts of data,” she said. “And then we put it in a box, in a room, and we closed the door.”
Bureaucracy in state and federal offices can slow down things. “It can actually be antithetic to … its purpose.” And it doesn’t help when officials respond to technology with a version of “What is it? What language are you talking about?”
Harris did not share a second opinion on the Biden Administration’s approach to security, covered by a long executive order – after being repealed by the Trump administration – that tried to exalt security and intimacy standards for his systems.
In her first visible public appearance since a brief speech at the NAACP images of Awards in February, Harris did not mention the current administration at all. Except, perhaps, for a lesson she entrusted to her mother. “We cannot argue disruption with destruction”-a possible brush of the government’s “Doge” government demolition project.
The Technique’s Trusting Trench
As for the types of technology industry, Harris said they do not help this relationship when deciding “that the government presents one thing and only one thing, which is an obstacle to innovation.” Or, in some cases, even wonder if it is necessary.
She saved her strongest words for an even reddish relationship: she between technology firms and their clients and users, whom she also described as “people who are not in that room”.
They often feel few agencies in their interaction with technology services, an issue she brought to a story to see the Oscars at home with her husband, Doug Emhoff. She realized that she was out of her favorite dumpy food and decided to make a giant Dorito bag. “I was willing to give up anything that could be tracking the special love of Kamala Harris for Nacho Cheese Doritos to get a big Dorito bag as I looked at the Oscars,” she said. (We believe Harris and Emhoff scored well.)
These feelings of unbelief are stronger than him, Harris noted: “Voting tells us, I think, is 70% of the American people they do not believe.”
He promoting misinformation and disinformation is part of the problem; Harris quoted “too harmful” lies about federal responses to the Hellenic hurricane but did not mention that many of it spread by Musk. But the fear of losing work approaches much greater.
It is worth work in an economy of it
“Our identity, in many, many ways, is related to the work we do,” she said, quickly adding: “I, for example, I’m unemployed now.” The audience tired.

“There are some people with a very large teasing pulp who have been very opposed to this point, [saying] “Cross it, it is happening,” “She continued.” Let’s start with a little more empathy and a little more respect for the right fear people have to lose everything. “
Instead, Harris called on them to consider people not in the room. “Can you articulate your vision for the future in a way that other people can see themselves?” She said.
Proposals to replace lost payments in it with a universal basic income scheme do not shorten them. “You know what people hear when you talk about UBI?” Harris said. “You want to get my job and put me in well -being.”
But she finished the conversation optimistically, saying she wished her mother, a biomedical researcher, was alive today to see how he is advancing things in that field and others. However, developers and he should work harder to include other people instead of waiting for them to sit down and appreciate their work.
“Let’s realize that there are many stakeholders in this job,” she said. “Your enthusiasm for this will be shared if people know what you know.”
